Ingredients: 1 cup shortening (½ cup of it butter); 2 cups sugar; ½ cup brown sugar; 2 eggs, beaten; 4 cups sifted flour; 3 tsp. baking powder; ¼ tsp. salt; 1 cup nuts; 1 Tbsp. vanilla

Method

Step 1: Cream shortening and sugars.
Step 2: Add eggs and beat until light.
Step 3: Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
Step 4: Add nuts and vanilla.
Step 5: Shape into rolls about 2" in diameter and refrigerate overnight.
Step 6: Slice ¼" thick and bake on a greased cookie sheet at 425°F for about 8 minutes.
