Ingredients: ½ cup shortening; ½ cup butter; 2½ cups brown sugar, packed; 2 eggs, well beaten; 2½ cups flour; ½ tsp. salt; ½ tsp. baking soda; 1 cup chopped pecans

Method

Step 1: Cream the shortening and sugar. Add the eggs and beat well.
Step 2: Add the sifted dry ingredients and the nuts.
Step 3: Drop onto a greased cookie sheet.
Step 4: Bake at 350°F for 12–15 minutes.
