Method

Step 1: Cook sugar and milk to the soft-ball stage.
Step 2: Add dates and cook over low heat until the mixture leaves the side of the pan.
Step 3: Add coconut and nuts. Beat well until the mixture holds its shape.
Step 4: Turn out onto a damp cloth and shape into a long oval roll.
Step 5: Roll lengthwise and slice.

Store in an airtight container.
